destination unknown

I decided to take a walk today and upon reaching E Market and S Matlack Streets I decided I would walk south for exactly 1 hour and then head back. It may seem a strange thing to do but it gives me time for thought, a chance to notice things, a sense of direction, and in the end a feeling of acomplishment.

I passed by a wooden cat attached to a fence proclaiming it kitty corner, pondered youth while i waded ankle deep thru the leaves, and as always hated cars and the people who plant decrotave thorns and bushes right up against the road and build other places walkers where never ment to go. not long after crossing 202 while heading up a hill there was a sign welcoming me to westtown township on whitch was a seal made up of strange little tower

oakbourne tower

I had heard of westtown before but had never seen the seal and wondered what the strange tower was wouldnt it be interesting to find out or stumble opon such an odd monument I thought and made a mental note to find the seal and the tower as i continued over the crest of the hill.

As the road decended I came to a blind curve with a guard rail on one side and a steep hill on the other just past the driveway to 502 oakbourne. I hate these curves because if for some reason a car dosn't see you and is comming and cuts too close to the rail your options become get hit head on by the car, get crushed against the rail by it or leap over the rail into whatever rocky thorn covered drop is on the other side. luckily no cars came but as i reached the far end of the rail leading off to the right I noticed a weird little road whitch oviously hadnt been used in quite some time.

Of course i ducked under the low hanging branches and onto the tree covered road whitch was beautifully covered with fall leaves. It was about two cars wide with a stone post in disrepair on the right side and lead to what looked like a clearing up the hill. I checked my watch noticing i still had a couple of minutes till i told myself i would turn around. curiosity got the best of me and i headed up to where the road opened up into a green park. I looked glanced at my watch again noticing i only had a minute till i was wherever i was going and counted down the seconds as i followed the now well paved blacktop road thru a little park 3...2...1..0

i stopped walking and looked to my right where there was a woman and a couple of kids sitting at a table under a small roof then to my left.. to my suprise i saw this.

I guess i had arrived after all needless to say i was intrigued and suprised and headed over where of course things got a little stranger yet. just south of the water tower was a fire circle with freshly burnt wood in it and three rows of benches that formed a c around it made of logs and wood. directly across from the seats between the fire and the tower was a sign posted on whitch where regulations for use of the fire pit...

3. The use of campfire (fire circle) is limited to ceremonial use only

...

6. cooking of food is NOT permitted

although it does go on to say that marshmellows and popcorn can be under certain specific circumstances.

on the way back I learned that kicking a large seed fruit up a hill and across 202 is possible but it gets the toes of your boots all green and slimy. some days your going somewhere and you don't even know it.

I learned i walk 1.9 miles an hour and that eris is still with me.
